My name is Mrs. Haro and I am one of the teachers at Congregational Preschool. I have been teaching here since 1997, and I continue to love every day I spend with the children. I teach a MWF morning three’s class, a T/TH morning three’s class and a class called You and Me / Me on My Own.
I am originally from Lafayette, California. I graduated from Humboldt State University way back in the early 80’s with a Bachelor of Science degree and a degree in education with a clear multiple subject credential.
My husband, Roger, and I married and moved several places while he earned his graduate degrees. We finally settled in the La Crosse area where Roger joined the faculty in the biology department at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. We have two sons who are the joys of our lives. Cody is a sophomore at the University of Minnesota and Tyler is a senior at Holmen High School.
I love animals, children, and the outdoors. I enjoy hiking, camping, swimming, and gardening. Growing up in California, I also enjoy backpacking and skiing in the Sierras, but have not done either recently. Reading a good book in a big, comfy chair is a relaxing activity I relish.
The biggest pleasure for me, other than my family, is spending time with children. Children have a natural ability to see life with open eyes. They are honest, imaginative, and have an innocent excitement that drives them. Being a teacher allows me to share with them the joy and excitement of learning. For me as a teacher, it is an honor to work at Congregational Preschool because the teachers value the perceptive children and encourage them to explore and learn about the world we all live in.
Welcome to our school. I know you and your child will enjoy the experience as much as I do.
