Mrs. Fuss teaches the 3 Year Olds Tues/Thurs AM & the 4 Year Olds Mon/Wed/Fri AM

Dear Preschool Families,

Welcome to Congregational Preschool!  My name is Kathy Fuss and I teach 4-year olds on M/W/F mornings and 3-year olds on T/TH mornings.  I love spending time with my preschoolers and providing them with one of their first educational experiences.  I want the children to know that preschool is a fun and exciting place to be, and my hope is that this attitude will carry over into all future learning.

I grew up in La Crosse, and moved back into the city five years ago.  My husband and I have two grown children. Our daughter currently lives in India with her new husband.  Our son works and lives in the Milwaukee area.

I graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a degree in Special Education and Elementary Education.  I have worked for the Holmen School District as a special education teacher, and was the director of Shepherd's Flock Preschool in Onalaska.  I began teaching at Congregational Preschool when we moved to La Crosse, and enjoy walking to work when the weather is nice.  I also enjoy biking, gardening, and sewing.

"Going to preschool" is truly an adventure for children, and my goal is to create an environment in which they can comfortably play, work, learn, and make new friends.  Each year I have a year-long theme to tie our weekly and monthly themes together.  This year it has been "Friends Around the World".  In that spirit, about once a month we get out our globe and "travel" to another country.  We learn about the things that children in other countries like to do, the languages they speak, and more.

Our mornings are busy and fun.  We start each day with a choice time in the room, followed by our playroom time down the hall.  When we get back to the room, it's time for snack, calendar, story, art, movement and more!  We end each day on the playground (weather permitting).

As a parent, you are your child's most influential teacher.  As a preschool teacher, I recognize the importance of creating a partnership with you as your child begins the adventure of "going to school".  I look forward to working with you.  Welcome to Congregational Preschool!
